4 slices bread (Italian, Ciabatta, Focaccia or Pita) toasted
1/2 cup hummus (plain)
1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
2 – 3 cloves garlic (diced fine)
8 fresh basil leaves (chopped)
salt & pepper to taste
EV olive oil (cold pressed)
zahtar (Middle East spice – sumac, thyme, sesame seeds)
pine nuts for topping (optional)
Combine hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil, salt & pepper in a bowl. Stir/mix. Top each slice of toast evenly with the hummus mixture. Drizzle 1 tsp olive oil on top and sprinkle with a pinch of zahtar. Serve with a demi cup of Espresso!
If zahtar is not available, use oregano or thyme.
Top with 5-10 pine nuts.
Serve on toasted French bread.
